Dr. Richard Tobey, Philadelphia Dentist
Upon graduating "With Honors" from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1975, Dr. Tobey was selected to enter that premier institution's Post Doctoral Graduate Program which gave him three years of advanced training in Prosthodontics and Periodontics. This intensive program, which accepts only one or two graduate students a year, prepared him for treating all aspects of dentistry, including the most advanced problem cases and the most challenging aesthetic concerns. In private practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania since 1979, Dr. Tobey treats patients not only from the Delaware Valley, but from as far away as Boston, Florida, Texas, Los Angeles, Paris, Italy, Germany, Japan, Lebanon and Morocco.
With his unique background, Dr. Tobey was invited to join the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he has taught for over fifteen years. He has lectured both in this country and abroad on all aspects of advanced dentistry, which include cosmetic dentistry, occlusion, periodontology, implantology and complete oral rehabilitation. Dr. Tobey is a member of over a dozen dental societies, and has held offices in many of them.
Dr. Tobey received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Virginia and his Masters of Science Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His private practice is located in the Medical Arts Building, Suite 822, at the corner of 16th and Walnut Streets in Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Dr. Tobey is also a sculptor, working mainly from the human figure. He sculpts in clay from which the work is fired and/or cast into bronze. He also works directly in metal and stone. He has shown in juried art shows and has won several prizes.
